Rosalba Mangione

Rosalba Mangione was born in Agrigento, where her relationship with nature and motherhood shaped her aesthetic vision. Her mentor, Egidio Cotroneo, marked the beginning of her artistic journey, imparting to her technique, a sensitivity to color, and the courage to exhibit her work. After her debut in Forlì and her encounter with Minestrini, a student of Burri, her painting turned toward the study of the great masters of the twentieth century—Burri, Afro, Santomaso, Kandinsky, and Turner—as she delved deeper into her exploration of materiality. Her painting evolved from dense, impasto-like backgrounds to a more balanced and geometric synthesis, giving shape to a contemporary poetics in dialogue with the major debates in today’s art world. He exhibits in Italy and abroad, participating in major exhibitions and institutional projects, including the Venice Film Festival, BIAS—the International Biennial of Contemporary Sacred Art—and the “Ancestral Egg” project for the Rite of Light.
