Imagine the first morning light on the grass, the dew on the petals, a hand gently picking flowers. Imagine a person going back to their laboratory to distillate from these plants the essences and active ingredients, fragrances and pigments which can cure, alleviate, appease the world. Silvia is like a herbalist. With this same knowledge, she obtains from the plants atmospheres, flavours, and echoes; she does it by mixing, matching, and balancing elements of nature and refined technologies. Her education as a photographer is starred with titles and prizes, and in actual fact Silvia moves with ease amongst the laws of optics and the vertigo of megabytes, yet her works have the romantic charm of ancient herbariums, of Victorian conservatories, or witchcraft books.
